I graduated from UTS Sydney with a double degree in Design and International Studies. During my design studies I delved into many projects in womenswear and menswear focusing on colour, ethnic inspirations and handwork detailing. My studies in International studies allowed me to build and hone skills in research and writing.
I balanced my studies with practical experience in the Sydney Fashion industry. For 6 years, i worked in studios and offices alongside designers assisting them in a range of tasks involving production, quality control and social media. Moreover, my 5 years of experience in the retail sector developed my skills in customer service, team management and communication.
For over 2 years now, I have been living and working in India. My work in the textiles industry here has allowed me to build a network of artisans and suppliers across India and given me experience in the manufacturing and sourcing sector.
Along with my consulting work, i have been designing and developing a Jewellery line, Mandysh, that is hand crafted using textile techniques such as embroidery and macramé.
My Indian heritage and world travels inspire me to work towards harmonising time-honoured textiles with contemporary international design. I take inspiration from artisanal communities around the globe, to develop unique designs that showcase exceptional workmanship. Ultimately, my focus is in promoting sustainable and ethical practices through my work and to spotlight craftspeople and their extraordinary talents.
I'm always excited for collaborations and new opportunities, so if you like, get in touch and let's talk.
